3 Things Not To Say to Married Couples

1. When will you finally have a kid?

In my opinion, it can be annoying and/or hurtful, especially if they never want to have kids, or they are infertile, etc. Please, be tactful, and try not to judge them!

2. Don’t tell your spouse!

Well, good luck with this one! :p

3. Which one of you is the boss in the relationship?

Sugar gets this one a lot. I, myself, have always wondered why people tend to ask this question. Why?

Please, feel free to leave me a comment below! 🙂

The Little Things…

Surprise your spouse! And when I say this, I am not talking about you buying him/her a Rolex wristwatch or some Tiffany and Co. jewels (hum maybe, but that’s not my point). One should do the unexpected for his/her significant other. Do something different (or something that he/she has been asking for). Buy her some new lingerie. Get the faucet fixed. Try to pay the bills on time. Tell her she is beautiful. Cook him/her a good meal (if you really cannot boil an egg to save your life, then don’t worry about that one). Ask him about his day (men do like that!). Buy him some flowers (Yes, I said “him”). Write him a message on your bathroom mirror—using your lipstick. Watch a soccer game with him without complaining… The list goes on and on!

Luckily, my husband knows that! In fact, we both enjoy giving each other a-little-something, once in a while, or doing something completely unexpected. For instance, eight years ago, my high school sweetheart (now, my husband) gave me a little heart-shaped rock with an inscription, on the back,

that read, “Je t’aime Sara” and the date—he engraved it himself. That was the most wonderful gift that somebody has ever given me! It was totally unexpected, and I loved it! I could tell that he was (really) thinking about me. I felt loved!

From time to time, I also like to do the same. For example, last December, I gave him a little book entitled, “52 Things I love About You.” It was an amazing idea that I found online (http://www.52reasonsiloveyou.com/)—without even looking for one. It took me some time to gather the “things” that I loved the most about him—I initially found ninety-three, but I can guarantee you that it was worth it. He loved it, and always carries it in his backpack whether he is traveling or simply going to work… I only paid a few bucks for this deck of card, and it brought so much joy to the both of us!

Now, that’s what I am talking about! You should try to surprise your partner more often; be creative! And keep this in mind: at the end of the day, only the little things really matter!
